Have you ever gone back on your word? Said one thing but did another? Changed your mind or brushed off a responsibility you once committed to–without much thought?
I have. More times than I’d like to admit.
This week, a friend shared a verse with me: Romans 11:29–For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. That word–irrevocable–stopped me in my tracks. It means something that can’t be changed, reversed, or taken back.
Final.
It’s the complete opposite of how I often operate. But that’s the nature of God’s promises. He doesn’t waver, shift, or forget. What He’s spoken over your life, He meant–fully and forever.
Maybe you feel miles away from that promise. Maybe you’ve strayed, stalled, or simply lost sight of what He once called you to. He hasn’t forgotten. He hasn’t withdrawn His calling. It’s still yours.
So come back. Reset. Find your people. And hold on to the only guarantee that truly lasts.
He’s not letting go. And neither should you.
P.S. If you’re coming up short in the “God’s Promises For Me” department, that’s ok. We all need reminders. Here are 50 and here’s a great book to keep close.
